This has a lovely mesmerizing quality between the marimba sounding melody and deep fuzzy bass. I love how it builds. Lovely music!

Real good listen
For me it was kind of "Trance like" or meditative. I went on a journey with many directions
I must come back when it's quieter and have Musey listen. I'm sure it'll put ideas in her head

this is fucking sick. love the vibe and sounds throughout. great use of the bass coming in and out at the beginning for maintaining a nice floaty momentum. filter roll on the bass is straight butter.

real nice!

Totally beautiful. I love the combination of textures and that sweet-sounding little clockwork marimba thing running through the whole thing is so lovely and wistful.

That's a crafty bit of arrangement--and a lovely, gentle way to start my day. I love the way the guitar melds with the electronic sounds. You could even put an ethereal wash of owl vocals in there somewhere.

Sweet and hypnotic and very recognizably your style even without vocals. The guitar fit perfectly even with the heavy distortion later in the tune.

Nice change of pace from Ramo-punk to this. It's interesting that you can do both so fluently. Impressive sound and production. And good structure, easy start and similiar end and some improvisation in the middle. Also a great bass sound. There's enough space in the mix for vocals... Smile

Oh, that's great! I love the peaceful, somehow shimmery feel, and the flimsy guitar is absolutely gorgeous! Reminds me of The Durutti Column. Superb!

Liner Notes:

There's a serious point behind this, but I've masked it in jokes so you'll never know.

Lyrics:

I thought the night had gone alright
in fact, it was terrific
she gave our date a six point eight
which I thought over-specific

I offered her my hand... I gambled on a kiss
she said "some music criticism wouldn't go amiss"

P4K took my baby away
they took her away
away from me

I thought she was the best
the best I'd ever seen
she said I wouldn't make her
top ten of 2015

I asked if she would like to take a walk around the lake
she said she was reading an interview with Drake

P4K took my baby away...

I asked to see her again, though I thought
the chances infinitesimal
I'd never have guessed that she wanted my love
expressed in perfect decimal

Hey ho, let's go! I like the ramo-vibe. So catchy. Extra points for using the word "infinitesimal". That doesn't happen often in any song. Background vocals and the ending are good too. I had to google p4k. I'm so dated I still use The Rolling Stone Record Guides five star rating. Smile

Yes. I give this a 9.5 but the Russian judge gives it a 6.9. Love the power punk groove. It works well.

Loving this! It's almost like The Ramones mixed with The Stone Roses. Super catchy chorus, and some clever lyrics too.

That was simply splendid, so well constructed and performed. You know I'm a bit of a Destroyer obsessive. Kaputt finished second to some Bon Iver album in Pitchfork's 2011 year-end rankings but only garnered a scored of 8.8. Clearly, a 6.8 is a pretty solid score.

Well hello, there you are and off to a great start!!! Entertaining lyrics, this is super catchy and fun--I know everyone's saying Ramones but the chorus reminds me of Andrew WK. p.s. sorry for your loss, stupid p4k.

I'm sure I don't know what p4k is, but o don't care. I listen to your songs because they are always good. The music and production are stellar. And lyrics seem to flow effortlessly from you. This is really impressive. Makes me want to strive to be a better producer and arranger.

Nothing wrong with a smashing chorus! Listening closer to it, I love the backing vox, it's just that little extra that adds to the experience.

I have no idea what P4k is but LOVED the sound, especially the way the synth (?) at the very beginning segues into the guitar and then launches into that punk pop rhythm.

Bloody hell, how did you get those guitars sounding so massive? The drums sound at least 8.4 as well. Spot on lyrically. About time someone took those fuckers down a (decimal) peg or two

nice and catchy, with an obvious ramones rip in the chorus (from one of my favorite songs of theirs). i love pop punk, so i grooved on this. i would have paused and repeated the chorus at the end and faded. if you are going to sample, do it shamelessly! i enjoyed this immensely.

Joke #1: the title. I got that instantly.

Joke #2 required I go to Google (actually DuckDuckGo, but still...) to find out what P4K actually is. I reread the lyrics, got it, and facepalmed. This joke is serious. If I ever date a music critic I'll definitely be wary. (On a random yet related note, TV Tropes says "8.8" is a trope. And yes, it's related to review/ratings websites, though the trope namer is IGN rather than Pitchfork.)

Now for the song. Rousing and catchy and spot on target. The final rhyme works as a killer punchline. The backing vocals are that extra little touch that make this (sorry) a perfect ten.
