The No Poets Society

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

I successfully PLAYED A GIG in England’s fashionable “London” last night, and here’s proof! A few of my songs, including a FIRST EVER performance of the science-based romance duet that I co-wrote with MJ Hibbett, have popped up on the TOTALLY ACOUSTIC PODCAST!

Hear it here!

Also of note is Mark’s blog post about the night, which explains the POETRY-BASED TROUBLE that threatened the safety of all concerned!

Here is a song that I wrote in the Android version of Nanoloop!

Pop for Kids!

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

At the start of February, I was contacted and asked to write a song for the Pop for Kids! project. My song, The World is Round and a short interview are now up on the site, as well as wonderful (and exclusive) free mp3s from Mascot Fight, MJ Hibbett and Monkey Swallows The Universe, among others. Check it out!

Happy New News!

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

It’s 2011, “Year of the Vorton”. Perhaps. At least, I have FOUR things scheduled already, which is a huge UPTURN for me!

FIRST: I have a gig in Birmingham on January 22nd! Details in this picture, I’m on at 4:30pm:

SECOND: I’m on the provisional line-up for the 2011 GeekPop festival! I’ll be sending them some new recordings (maybe even videos?) for my performance on the Comical Flask virtual stage. Also playing are Jeffrey Lewis and MJ Hibbett, among a ton of other excellent stuff.

THIRD: A gig in Nottingham, with a man named Hibbett – whoever that might be – on February 21st. See here:

FOURTH: I’m returning to MJ Hibbett’s (that man again) Totally Acoustic at The Lamb, London! I’m playing with Owen Tromans on April 19th.

In addition to all this, it’s nearly time for February Album Writing Month again! EXCITING TIMES.

CMAR MMX

As is traditional, I have spent the entire year carefully crafting a new version of Justin Timberlake’s finest moment, Cry Me a River, and recorded it at almost at the last minute.

This year ukuleles feature heavily, along with a sort of swing jazz feel.
